Title: Monitoring of the Visualization Process of Primo Vascular System in Lymph Ducts through a Window System

Abstract

This study aims at the investigation on monitoring the temporal change of Primo Vascular System (PVS) which is known to be a hyaluronic acid-rich node and duct system within the lymphatic and blood vessels and is enriched with small adult stem cells with properties similar to those of the very small embryonic-like stem cells. The past studies focused mainly on the PVS in the lymph vessels near large blood vessels such as the caudal vena cava, the lumbar vessels, and the thoracic duct of various experimental animals. In this work, the target lymph vessels are chosen to be easily accessible from the skin of rat and long-time observations through the window system are possible with intact physiological conditions by minimized surgical procedures. The Alcian Blue 1% solution is injected into the inguinal lymph node and the target lymph vessels are along the superficial epigastric vessels. The series of images are taken by the imaging system and analyzed by using the image process for the extraction of AB intensity changes along with the PVS. This newly developed procedure may provide a useful method for further study on dynamic process of PVS in lymph vessels and possible roles for acupuncture and meridian.
